Fuel consumption measurement

January 9th, 2010

Finally it´s time to measure the fuel consumption of Baldos. We think it´s the most fuel efficient car that ever has been approved for street use in Sweden, so it´s time to put it to the test.

This event is open to invited journalists and sponsors and we are really excited to show our sponsors what they had been involved in and how the car turned out.

Time and place for the event is Thursday, January 21, at Arcushallen in Luleå. The test run will take place at the indoor running track. It starts at 1 pm with a short presentation and will end about two hours later.

Baldos, approved for street use!

November 8th, 2009

Under the last few weeks a lot of things have happened to and around Baldos.  The goal of getting Baldos ready and approved for street use in Sweden came through on the 3rd of November and now we are only waiting for the number plates to arrive.

Since the race in May a small group of students and teachers from the original team has worked on the car making it ready for street use, the original engine has been replaced with two stronger engines that powers one of the rear tires each.
Windscreen viper, windscreen washer, heater, new wheels, and door locks have been installed. The door has had a redesign to work better and be more secure.

Hopefully we will be able to make a test run to measure the efficiency of the car and calculate some numbers in the next coming weeks.

April 26th, 2009

Are you on twitter?

Well, Team Baldos is now. We’re planning to use twitter for live updates from our trip to, and also during, the race. Of course, we’ll start using it for minor updates up until then as well.

If you are interested in following us via Twitter, you can do so here. If you just want to keep checking the blog, you can of course do so, it will automatically generate a daily digest post of tweets, and you can find the lastest couple of tweets below the recent news on the front page.

Light at the end of the tunnel

Today we tried the lamp glass for both headlights and taillight for the first time on the body. The moulds for the glass wear manufactured on campus and later vacuum formed over the moulds.
